There was a fantastic show on public television about lowering your real age. Your real age is based upon the condition of your body and can be up to 25 years younger for men and 27 years younger for women than your calendar age. Internal inflammation is the primary cause of premature aging and even weight gain. So the goal is to reduce inflammation in the body. The foods you eat have a tremendous impact on lowering your real age.

Turmeric is one of the good spices to include in your diet. If you do a search on the Internet for "benefits of Turmeric" you'll find a long list. Two of the key benefits is that it's an anti-inflammatory and lowers cholesterol.

Coriander is also anti-inflammatory and cholesterol lowering.

So, if turkey meat loaf is already a healthy choice why not make it even healthier? The meat loaf recipe below is the same meat loaf recipe but with Turmeric and coriander. It's delicious.

I used scant teaspoons of Turmeric and coriander in the meat loaf recipe below and used just two teaspoons of each in the three pound recipe. I may try a teaspoon for each pound the next time I make it. Better to be safe than sorry.

This simple meat loaf recipe is very healthy. It's just delicious. I will give you the ingredients for three different sizes. We usually make the 3 lb. size because people tend to eat a lot.
1 lb.
2 lbs.
3 lbs.
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Ground Turkey (I prefer Shadybrook Farms) 1 lb. 2 lbs. 3 lbs.
Eggs (Large) 1 2 3
Hot sauce. I use a mild hot sauce. My favorite is a brand called Sharkey's (scroll down for picture) but it can be a little hard to find. If you are using regular hot sauce you might want to cut his back by at least half. This is especially true if you are serving the meat loaf to children. You can always add more to taste later. 1 tbsp. 2 tbsp. 3 tbsp.
Worcestershire Sauce (I use Lea and Perrins) 1 tbsp. 2 tbsp. 3 tbsp.
Adobe Seasoning (Scroll down for picture) 1 tsp. 2 tsp. 3 tsp.
Coriander (Organic) (Scroll down for picture) 2/3 tsp. 1 1/3 tsp. 2 tsp.
Turmeric (Organic) (Scroll down for picture) 2/3 tsp. 1 1/3 tsp. 2 tsp.
Vidalia Onion - Diced 4 ozs. 8 ozs. 12 ozs.
Olive Oil 1 tbsp. 2 tbsp. 3 tbsp.
Bread - either white or whole wheat 2 slices 4 slices 6 slices
  1. Put the ground turkey and all other ingredients except the bread slices into a large bowl.
  2. Wet the slices of bread with water and then gently squeeze out the excess water. Then pinch small pieces placing them in the bowl. It is not necessary to remove the crust. This is the secret to an unbelievably moist meat loaf!
  3. Mix thoroughly.
  4. Place mixture in appropriate size baking dish.
  5. It's difficult to say precisely how long to bake your meat loaf since it depends on the dish you're using, your oven's characteristics, etc. I bake the 3 lb. meat loaf, covered, for 1½ hours and then check to see if it's done. You want it to be done but don't overcook it. You want it to be moist.
  6. Remove meat loaf from oven. Let stand for about twenty minutes.
